Regular light bulbs produce around 15 lumens/watt and generate more heat than light. The scientists at Luxim created a new incredibly efficient light bulb that uses plasma state energy to create energy. The technology is pretty advanced, but this plasma light bulb gives 140 lumens/wat, which makes it not only very powerful but also lowers the electricity bill:
An RF (radio-frequency) signal is generated by the solid-state power amplifier and is guided into an electric field about the bulb. The high concentration of energy in the electric field vaporizes the contents of the bulb to a plasma state at the bulbs center; this controlled plasma generates an intense source of light.
Did you ever wonder how radio-ad voice talkers look like? Well, here's a little soap opera sketch video on how they live their every day (or how we hope they do at least).
Usually when you see a cat and a hamster in the same room one of them is chasing the other one (and as you guessed it, usually it's the cat running after the poor rodent), but these two specimens are very very out of the ordinary. They make a good couple for years and they seem to be very happy about it.
You might think the most fearless animal in the world would be the mighty lion, or perhaps the huge elephant but in fact Guinness Book of World Records has named the Honey Badger the most fearless animal on Earth. Hey, what other animal steals cobra's food and then goes for the dangerous snake itself - and wins the fight?
A slap only takes a fraction of a second and it sometimes hurts more than someone's ego. But did you ever wonder how it looks in slow motion? You'll be amazed ... but don't take my word for it, watch it.
In case you were wondering what folks at MIT are up to lately, here's a new "invention". No, it's not a crazy robot, it's a party-ready bedroom activated by the push of a button. Crazy stuff.
Did you ever wonder what you can do with an ordinary Cat5 network cable? Well, this guy managed to make his very own army ... if you don't believe it take a look.
